Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up by our professional Nesh Tours & Safaris representative and driver-guide from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After a warm welcome and safari briefing, depart north via the Great North Road, passing the foothills of Mount Kenya and crossing the equator near Nanyuki. Arrive at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge in time for a welcome drink and lunch overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River. After some rest, head out for your first afternoon game drive in the neighboring Samburu National Reserve, home to elephants, lions, leopards, and the famed Samburu Special Five. Start the day with an early breakfast before setting out for a morning game drive across the rugged plains and acacia woodlands of Samburu. Watch as elephants gather by the river and predators prowl in the cool morning air. Return to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time — perhaps enjoy a swim, relax by the spring-fed pool, or simply unwind to the sounds of nature. In the afternoon, embark on another game drive through the scenic Shaba Reserve, famous for its unique volcanic landscapes and as the home of Joy and George Adamson of Born Free fame. You might spot giraffes stretching for treetops, oryx grazing in the open plains, and crocodiles basking along the riverbanks. Capture your last moments of the wild north — elephants bathing in the river, graceful gazelles, and the endless horizon of Shaba. After check-out, begin your drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in the late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), marking the end of an enriching safari experience with Nesh Tours & Safaris.
