Wake up early for a beautiful morning in Amboseli. The early hours are one of the best times for wildlife viewing, and if the skies are clear, you may enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind the park.

Today is dedicated to exploring Amboseli’s wildlife-rich plains, swamps, and open grasslands. The park is especially known for its large elephant families, many of which can be seen walking across the plains or feeding near the swamp areas. You may also encounter lions, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalo, hippos, zebras, giraffes, and many bird species.

Depending on your lodge location and safari plan, you can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives or a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s best safari destinations for seeing lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and many antelope species. During the Great Migration season, usually from July to October, the Mara becomes one of the most dramatic wildlife viewing areas in the world as wildebeest and zebras move between the Serengeti and Masai Mara.
